WE MOVE

2020! Quite an unprecedented year. I am sure you have stories and experiences that shaped your life this year. I do too. Alot.

For some, 2020 was a roller coaster. One minute everything was 'normal', the next minute, there's a pandemic that makes you think twice before hugging your neighbour and which declares a face mask an essential 'accessory'. These persons focused on taking one day at a time because of the unprecedented nature of the year.

For others, 2020 was the year of their dreams. They were able to implement plans and achieve their goals. The lockdown helped them reflect on their lives and take the necessary steps in the right direction.

Did you  just say 'abegggi'?...hold on!

Irrespective of how 2020 was for you; good,  bad, 'in between' (yes, this category definitely exists), accept the fact that we can not go back to January 2020 to change things or re-start the year. The only option is to MOVE forward.
Now, in moving forward, realise that 2020 was challenging for EVERYONE including those who achieved alot despite the overwhelming nature of the year. The only difference was that some persons reacted differently to the challenges of 2020.

Rather than cling to the deceitful embrace of depression and regret, one productive thing you can to is EVALUATE your year. Identify the good, the great, the 'omo!', the 'why me?', the 'if I had known', etc. There's no time to cry over spilled milk, 2020 has come and in a few hours, it will be history. So, identify your mistakes, wins, and the way FORWARD.
One unforgettable lesson I learnt in 2020 is that optimism is a virtue. Even when everything seems like it's falling apart, consciously encourage yourself that everything will be fine. Strategize and restrategize. Focus on the way forward. Learn and move on.

So, as you draw up your plans for 2021, remember to make them realistic and deliberately include steps you can take to implement these plans. Also, ensure that you do not repeat the same mistakes in 2021. Finally, hand over your plans to God and let Him take over. Trust me, your plans are safer in His hands.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs  3:5-6

Thank you for your time and support in 2020, see you in 2021!
