#YoursTruly02: AGBADO
Corn. Maize. Agbado.
These words mean one and the same thing.
Corn is nutritious and rich in fiber. It is magnesium-rich with vitamins that aid digestive and eye health.It is a rich source of protein and helps to boost one’s bone strength and immune system. Well, now you know.
Some days ago, Mummy asked me to boil some corn. Well, I joyfully marched to the kitchen to do so. Foodies like us don’t waste time… you know! So, I did the basics, you know, get a pot of appropriate size, wash the raw corn, put water in the pot, arrange the corn in it and add some salt. Yes, that easy. Thank me later.
So, I went back to my work station with the expectation that the pleasant aroma of corn was going to visit me soon. Well, out of curiosity, I decided to check after a while. To my greatest surprise, the gas flame was out. The pot was a bit warm and the corn still raw.
Quite disappointed, I had to change the gas cylinder and exercise more patience. It was worth the wait anyway, I munched with pride that day. Hehehe
I pondered on what happened that day, I like to believe there was a deeper lesson from the entire scenario;
The pot was still hot,
The gas flame was out,
The corn was raw,
I was not aware about this,
I was away, expecting to receive a harvest of sweet corn.
Stay active in the Process. Do not be in a hurry because you have had one experience. There’s more. To avoid operating on old fuel and achieving nothing, do not be absent minded to your present state in every area of your life. If you are working towards becoming a better person, be active about it and stay IN the process. Do not assume. Be positive minded, work in progress! That’s me, that’s you.
