#FaithSeries: RENAISSANCE

Praying was difficult for Fola. She loved God, she loved church and all that good stuff, but she was not interested. It was like her connection to heaven had been switched off and in this pandemic, with no church services, it grew worse. She was struggling daily to bury her guilt whenever people discussed about having a ‘personal relationship with God’.  “What did that even mean? These people have come again ”. She thought. Staying indoors for 24 hours in a pandemic and having nothing to do was quite frustrating. There was absolutely nothing that fascinated her and she was gradually feeling empty and had no sense of direction. As she stood in the kitchen to prepare pancakes for breakfast, she realized there were no eggs in the house and so, decided to get some. On getting to the grocery shop on her street, she realized that they had no eggs and so, she had to go to another shop to get eggs and she was unhappy about that. THIS OR THAT

The uncertainties of life can make one confused. You know, that moment when you are completely oblivious of what could happen in the next 30 minutes. Making decisions can be like that.  We all get to that point where we feel stuck, puzzled or perplexed. I know!  I just gave synonyms of the word- ‘confused’. I like to believe that life is a journey and just like a road trip, there would be crossroads with a lot of “what ifs” and what not.  We procrastinate on making decisions sometimes, because we are scared of the aftermath and so we decide to ‘hang in there’ (wherever ‘there’ is) and do nothing. Sometimes, we shy away from the realities staring at us in the face and deceive ourselves by remaining on the fence, like that would solve anything.  We are a reflection of the choices we make.
