#FaithSeries: Doubt your Doubts

Have you ever been in a situation where you find it difficult to believe God can do it?. You know, that period when you stare at space for seconds because you feel that challenge is impossible to overcome. Sometimes, you strangely feel praying about it is a waste of time, because nothing seems to make sense. Well, Toba felt that way too.


Overwhelmed by the pressure, Toba sighed and quietly wished it was a dream. Why was everything so difficult?. She had imagined that getting her dream job five years ago would resolve a lot of issues. But she could not tell which was worse. Having to deal with all these family issues or the financial burden that was gradually drowning her. The icing on the cake was that she was listed among the employees to be retrenched by the company as a result of the economic meltdown the country was currently experiencing.

 Helen and Shade’s argument interrupted her thoughts. "That bag is too expensive, how much is my salary?" Helen said, raising her hands. "Come and patronize me jor, this bag would make you stand out, I’m telling you". Shade responded with a smile on her face. They noticed Toba had been awfully quiet and beckoned on her to tell them what the matter was.
"I’m fed up. What did I do to deserve all these? I mean, why is everything so difficult? I have tried to manage everything but I’m stuck. I am a Christian now, isn’t everything supposed to be easy?" Toba asked. Helen and Shade were her close friends and prayer partners after all so she could tell them about her challenges, Toba reasoned. "Nobody understands what I’m passing through" she added, wiping away tears from her face.

Are you like Toba, burdened with a load of care and silently drowning in your doubts and fears? Why don’t you doubt your doubts and start believing God more than ever before? When you feel you cannot overcome a particular situation, fall back to God’s word and promises and let Him guide you as to the right step to take.

Isaiah 41:10 encourages us to do away with fear and dismay and believe that God is able to help and strengthen us. We have been declared to be more than conquerors (Rom 8:37) and even though we pass through difficulties and challenges, we are assured that God is WITH us as He will never leave us nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6, Joshua 1:5).
So, let go of your doubts. Have unrepentant faith in God knowing that with God all things are POSSIBLE.

I'M BACK!

2021 has been an eventful year so far! I know it's been a minute. Errrrr, maybe more than a minute. It's been 11 weeks!😂😂😂  I resumed in January 2021 to complete my training at the Nigerian Law School. The pandemic extended the academic calendar and so, I had to use the remaining time judiciously. Rounded off my bar exams last week. Thank God for everything, honestly. I. AM. BACK. 😊 Watch out for amazing and inspiring contents on academics, faith, and lifestyle. #YoursTruly03: OLD PLAYLIST

                      I love music. I think that is an interesting fact about me because no day passes without music being a major part of my 24 hours. I have a thing for lyrics and beats too. Once it blesses, edifies and inspires me, there’s a playlist for it. Some days ago, my entire last added playlist rearranged itself. I was like “who sent this one message” at the beginning because, my newly downloaded songs were lost in the crowd of my very long list. But, I realized that some of the songs I was seeing were my jams back in the day.  It’s a cycle.
